RAINMAKER IN COSTA RICA:
Rainmaker mountain is one of the last remnants of primary rainforest in the Central Pacific. It is home to 60% of all the flora and fauna species found in Costa Rica. Dedicated to the conservation and protection of the Fila Chonta mountain range on Costa Rica's pacific side.
This tour begins with a river walk along the Rio Seco’s edge. Hand railings and easy to follow foot paths along with sporadic observations platforms, allow you to observe waterfalls and capture photographically the rich biodiversity this unique site offer. At the end of the river walk trail, a pristine waterfall pool will beckon you to enjoy a refreshing dip. Next, the tour continues up into the treetops of the forest.
Rainmaker's unique location places it within the strategic Quepoa Biological corridor. It is our firm commitment to ensure that this area may be enjoyed by future generations to come.
Presumed extinct in Costa Rica, the Harlequin toad (Atelopus varius) has been re-discovered in the Rainmaker reserve since 2003. The poison toad's distinctive yellow-and-black markings, believed to ward off predators, once made it easy to identify when the species populated Costa Rican and Panamanian streams.
The tour includes natural juices, fresh fruits snacks, typical Costa Rican lunch and round trip transportation from the Quepos Manuel Antonio area or Parrita.
