Consider one of the cleanest rivers in Central America; the Savegre is an authentic family adventure: relaxation and pure action while enjoying the fantastic landscapes. This adventure starts with an early drive south of Quepos on our a/c minibus. It takes 1 ½ hours through African oil plantations, teak reforestation projects and incredible landscapes to the river put-in.
After a safety briefing we start maneuvering rapids like “Gringo Eater”, and “Boca Diablo”. We will enjoy a snack of fresh fruits and cookies to then continue our river journey. Before the end we hit “Santo Domingo” rapid and then the river tames down until we meet with our mini bus. A 15 minute drive will take you where a hot Costa Rican meal will be served on your table. After lunch is a 30 minute drive back to Quepos.
Of different biological areas identified in Costa Rica, the mangroves are an important coastal habitat for birds and fish and other animal species. Its main attraction lies in the vegetation, with four varieties of mangroves, and the variety of fauna. It is an ideal place for bird watching.
Mangroves which grow where the sea water is fresh water from our tropical rivers creating a periodically submerged forest of interlacing aerial roots. This is where there are several varieties of crabs, which can see at close range. Above discover some other residents of the mangrove, boas, seraphim bananas and monkeys. With a little luck, we also see a crocodile swimming quietly.
Walking along the quiet canals we will discover its secrets and charms in the company of a professional guide. In one of the beaches on the island stop for a water-based snacks, juice, fruit and cookies, so the lovely tour concludes in the mangroves of Damas Island.
